The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent option for homes with many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is easy. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful for setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for most people, but it's one that can aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and function are among the top available however it's expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and is easily hidden when not in use. The station's most appealing point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who want a vacuum robot that can do everything.

However, if you're looking to save money, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine There are many other options on the market with a wide range of eufy models that cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
