WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the Best item upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item upgrader kit slot and current item level and item level upgrade the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for Item Level Upgrade gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader kit in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
