The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.

It's a small base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other best robot vacuum vacuums. This means that it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It can't navigate stairs as well as some competitors, for instance and doesn't come with a dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price price.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive however it comes with more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, simply connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. It is recommended to keep the dock close to an outlet for power and ample space for it to move but.

The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be tucked away under couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. The design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The most important aspect that sets the G30 above the rest is the way it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It can remember what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has similar battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
