World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade item components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, upgrade item and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the item to which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following the reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll find that the Best item upgrader way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could increase in price even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). This item upgrade can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original state and the player having to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade item, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade item costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
