Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one go without having to swap out devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic hoovers cleaners may overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've observed that any carpet that the best rated robot vacuum touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, Robots That Vacuum and Mop including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. The robot hoover and mop can also reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market, but it packs in a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
