Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, item level upgrade armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item upgrader mod and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and item Level Upgrade trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
