Saab Key Programming

Saab cars manufactured since 1994 feature an immobilizer system based on a set of keys. The addition of a key requires a new transponder and special programming. This is usually done at the dealer, using a specially-designed Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

The transponder keys are keys with an electronic chip that sends a signal back to the car when it is put into the ignition. The car will check to see whether the signal matches the one on the key.
