World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. upgrade items components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and upgrade items Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment with fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

In the endgame you'll find that the best way to enhance your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using a Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For example that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrades upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item level upgrade requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an individual player improves a piece of equipment it will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item upgrader kit to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, upgrade items allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each when you upgrade an item, it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item returning to its initial state, which requires the player to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
