World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus could exceed the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and level. For example, Item upgrades an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of their base. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for Item upgrades FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has circling arrows in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. The more defense your character has the more value you will get from each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.

You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is Best item upgrade to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or in the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item upgrades's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential such as a trinket. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the old one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they will not be replacing soon (for example rings or cloaks). For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
