The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You could, for instance, ask the robot cleaner to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and Robots that vacuum and Mop that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
