Round stacking is a well-known method to stack firewood. It is simple to set up and looks beautiful. Create a base by spreading out three to four rows of treated 2x4s, or pallets. On top of the base, create a stack using end pillars by placing 3-4 pieces of wood side-by-side and another on the opposite side. Continue to build the pillars until the stack is 12 rows high, ensuring that there is plenty of space between each one so that air flows easily throughout the entire pile.

Use a center stake for stability and start adding perpendicular pieces along the outside. Join them with string in the middle. Repeat this process until you reach the desired height for your wall. You can then add in interior space with odd-looking pieces and any pieces that are too big for the outer rows. Indoor stacking requires an area with good airflow and plenty of sunlight. Overcrowding could result in damp and moldy wood. The best indoor space for stacking is typically garages or basements.
