WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item Level Upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a The button will display the item upgrader mod's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item upgrade level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. For instance, once an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
