WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for item level upgrade items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the Item level upgrade when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Another important change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
