How to Upgrade Gear in World of Warcraft

The process of upgrading your equipment is an essential part of the game's progression. Players earn two item upgrade currencies as they explore of Khaz Algar, Valorstones and Harbinger Crests.

Recycled Items

Metals like copper and aluminum are recyclable, but you shouldn't place paint, pesticides, or fertilizer in the recycling stream.

Some items can't be recycled because they're toxic or require too much energy to process. This isn't a reason to throw them away! You can reuse them in a variety of ways, such as creating an organizer for your desk or a lamp. You can also make a unique art piece.

Each set comes with its own bonus, and the upgraded version of a set can be used by multiple units without penalty. However, a player is allowed to only have three pieces of a set at one time. After that there is a fourth piece that can be acquired without incurring penalties. The item upgrader can also offer players a new set of items but this isn't a guarantee.

Upgrade components can be added to armor, weapons and trinkets to increase stats or effects. They can be purchased through the upgrader of items for small amounts of gold, or acquired as drops from karma vendors, monsters, or upgrade items looted. Most upgrade components require a certain level of equipment to be able to use them and some even have cosmetic effects.

Some upgrade components can be reused however the majority will be destroyed if they are removed from a newly upgraded piece of equipment. This is true of all upgrades, excluding glyphs that can be put in tools for gathering. Some upgrade components can also be recovered from equipment that has been saved using a high-end salvage kit (such as Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool).

It is generally recommended that players prioritize upgrading BiS items first, followed by items that won't be replaced soon. The items should be the Best item upgrader quality possible to maximize the return on investment. This is particularly crucial for crit or haste-based builds where a high-quality base item can be surpassed by a perfect, capped upgrade.

Rerolling

Rerolling allows players to refresh their weapons and other items. It is purchased with Materials and has an increasing base value for every reroll. Players may reroll items if they are not happy with the outcome or if they would like to change the item's power or number upgrade. Rerolling does NOT reset a character’s pre-registration rewards or launch rewards.

Rerolling is an essential part of Genshin Impact. New players receive a large amount of game money and can use this money to "pull" or roll for any random weapon or character. Many players repeat the roll until the character of the highest tier is obtained which can carry them through the early stages. Others create multiple accounts to increase their chances of obtaining higher-tier characters.
