The M12 has a variety of cleaning modes for vacuuming and mopping. Its clever design allows the M12 to map a space in just six minutes and then adjust its cleaning path accordingly. The Eufy S1 Pro has been designed as an efficient mop and vacuum combo that is also user-friendly. Its gunmetal-colored base station is self-emptying and fills its own tank with clean water, automatically emptying the dust bin into a smaller one and cleans and dries its own mop pad during cleaning sessions. It also comes with a sophisticated feature set that allows it to switch between hard and rugs, effectively remove dirt and pet hair from carpets, and clean the thresholds of rooms that are raised.

The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping, thanks to the internal dToF system. It can maintain a low-profile while still providing the best rated robot vacuum in detection of objects. It is able to drive close to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also raises the mop automatically when driving on rugs or short-pile carpets. However, it did struggle a little when encountering longer-pile carpets and large, thick messes of dried-on debris.

Like many robots, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only the initial mapping run to figure out how it can navigate your home. The map will then be displayed in the app, and you can add or join rooms as necessary. You can also set virtual boundaries and no-go zones or no-mop zones in case there's something you don't want the robot to touch.

The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up spills from hard floors due to its rotating mop head, which puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability both to mop and vacuum makes it an excellent choice for homes that have two types of flooring. However, its dependence on Eufy cleaning solutions (which are included in the box) could make it less versatile as other robots that allow you to add your own cleaning solutions.
