Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated in the base plate of your door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after use. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This component is the best solution to address this issue. It also prevents your door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed for use with multipoint locks sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are sold as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes provide a great value solution to the issue of door handles that have become sagging. They are simple to put in and will extend the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
