The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

They also have carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, robot vacuum Cleaner an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competition. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot vacuum cleaner that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it will cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home via the app or voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Finally a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for Best Robot Hoover pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
