Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic hoovers cleaners might miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to send the best rated robot vacuum to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and robots that vacuum and mop skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 has many smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and alert you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, robots That vacuum and Mop it has several features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
