It's also a bit flaky when it returns to the charging station after a run. Other robots can follow a wall or trace the previous route however the RX3 is a mess until it finally gives up.

We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a decent job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily stuck by cables and socks, and was unable to handle the tassels of carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our best cheap robot vacuum Buy list. However, with a reasonable price and impressive performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering if you're looking for a smarter alternative to traditional uprights.
