While many are awed by the fact that Alex could learn so many things, some scientists have argued that it was unfair to compare him to humans in terms of intelligence. They have argued that although Alex was capable of communicating but he didn't have the ability to comprehend logical expressions like "if you have x, then you have y."

What was Alex's personality like?

Alex was not only an intelligent dog, but also a playful friend who loved playing with his owners. He often served as an advisor and cheerleader during the training sessions, encouraging or encouraging them to perform better. This film has received much critical acclaim and is considered one of the best documentaries ever made. It has also won many awards including the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2019.

In addition to his collaboration with Dr. Pepperberg, Alex also set the standard for new avenues in avian intelligence. Alex was able to sing more than 100 vocal labels for objects and actions. He was also capable of counting up to six sets of objects and displayed math skills that were advanced in the time for a bird.

He also could communicate with other animals through sign language and was able to comprehend a lot of grammar. He used a training method known as "rival model" which included two trainers who showed the bird what they wanted to teach it. The trainers often changed positions so that the bird could interact with both trainers and receive attention from each.

After the success of Free Solo, Alex was given the title of National Hero by President Barack Obama in 2014. Alex was able to achieve many things in his lifetime because of his determination to character and his desire to live life on his own terms.
