The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot cleaner with mop's performance when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it avoid obstacles and best robot hoover pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum with mop that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection but this was not reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas tend to be.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a large furniture. Also, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that vacuum and mop that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
