World of Warcraft Item Upgrade and Set Bonuses

The item upgrade is a type of enchantment which increases the stats of certain armor or weapons. This includes secondary stats such as Leech or Speed.

Leveling

Upgrade materials can be gathered by a player as they remove content. They can then be used to upgrade or replace an item. Each item requires a different kind of upgrade material. Weapons require Destruction stones while armor items require Guardian or Harmony Leapstones. When an item is upgraded, the materials are changed in their names. For example, Stone Fragments becomes Stones and Harmony Shards becomes Life Shards.

Item upgrade is important for improving a character's performance however it is crucial to take into consideration the cost of doing so prior to making any changes. Players can also utilize an additional mechanic, Eliminate, which will remove any Level Up option they have on their equipment or weapons. Some of these bonuses are exclusive to certain pieces of equipment. If you have the complete Phantom Armor set, you will be rewarded with +8 defense (instead of the standard +3 defense you receive with other gear). Some sets can only be obtained by completing certain tasks or by purchasing them from the Auction House.

It is also possible to acquire Set Bonuses on several pieces of equipment simultaneously. For instance, if have the complete Kestra's Descent set and the appropriate parts of the Twinblade of Shadow you will receive the + version of that set's bonus when you can meet it.

Set bonuses
