The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom."
