1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually as it gets full.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent vacuum cleaner maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to recharge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot automatic vacuum cleaner.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room, and even vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide power that is not fading for intelligent Vacuum cleaner 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpets to trap large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes to suit the task at hand. It swiftly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back.

This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments as well as an wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's main drawback is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our tests, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner cheap vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and works better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app also lets you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum using different colors, so you can easily identify the areas where it's focused or where it's gotten stuck.

The app allows you to steer the robot manually when needed. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as an incline. Also, the ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
