Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has created a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a fluttering 'B' paperweight, a set of keys, and a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

Aesthetics

As a design-driven company, Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. This is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting as well as the use of leather derived from leftovers from cattle and sustainable managed forests, and the ingenuous patterns of its levers. Design

Bentley is a renowned brand for its luxurious and ostentatious cars, but even keys are designed to make a statement. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver. The Mulsanne was redesigned and improved by Bentley Mulliner in order to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to provide passengers with unparalleled comfort and privacy. The key is made from vegetable tanned leather and takes more than two days to create each one. It is cut by hand shape, sewn, sealed and polished to give an extremely high-end finish. It is robust compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key, but it feels much heavier and has a premium feel.

Secure-A-Key is also included to help stop keyless entry theft. This device is inserted inside the remote-control key fob, and will shut it off after a few minutes of inactivity. This stops thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards which are presented to guests in a handmade key case. Instead they do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built in sensors guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spaces, drivers have to do it manually.
