World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade items, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item upgrader could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or upgrade items +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrade a piece of equipment the original item will be replaced with an item that is new. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the Best item upgrade to return to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item upgrader is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade item to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
