WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade items also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade items your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade item level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, item Level Upgrade and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
