WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item level upgrade used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, item Level Upgrade and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
