The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is a Supercapacitor Hybrid

The Sian FKP 37, by Lamborghini's standards is a wild car. It's also among the first hybrid production cars to use supercapacitors.

A 34-hp e-motor built into the automated manual transmission powers the Sian for speeds up to 80 mph when the V-12 takes over. This system makes the car more efficient and allows it to accelerate immediately.

Forged Composites

The Sian's Hybrid System comes with an additional feature in its sleeves: the supercapacitor. It's able to recharge faster than lithium-ion batteries and the car can run for up to 63 minutes with only electric power.

The name Sian is the Bolognese word for lightning, and is an ode to the brand's heritage and future. The alphanumeric suffix FKP37 is a tribute to Ferdinand Karl Piech. He was the one who brought Lamborghini to the Volkswagen Group and died just before Sian's debut. Only 63 examples were built and all are accounted for.

It's almost becoming ridiculous, but it's still an eye-catching car. The driver is seated behind a wheel that's not a button with enormous paddle shifters, and the infotainment system has an orientation that is vertical.
