The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or via voice.

In our testing the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. As CR's tests show, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. It was able to pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area many times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart robot vacuums and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and Top Rated robot vacuum has more advanced automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and works better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried and could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station.
