BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a correct PIN code to start the engine.

Unlike other immobilisers The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost does not use LEDs or key-fobs. It makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarming sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or installing an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This lets you enter the key sequences which aren't accessible through the standard menus for media. For instance, volume up/down or source controls, cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to figure out.

We can also include the service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is away from the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment unit (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a top-of-the-line immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being taken by key cloning and hacking. It makes use of the factory buttons on your vehicle to generate an unique sequence of pushes that only you can identify. This is similar to the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's incredibly secure, discreet and deters even the most determined thieves!

If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet situation in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from starting until the correct code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to give their vehicles to valet service companies, or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you bring the vehicle into the garage for repairs, maintenance etc without worrying about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.

Once the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it has been started. This stops anyone else from testing driving it while you're away. When you return, it will revert back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen once again.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the security technology has to evolve, this is why Ghost has created this discrete and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to prevent thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your car and then drive it away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons within your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence which requires to be completed before the engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once it is activated, any attempt to start the engine will be immediately blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it is unable to identify the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without the need to enter the PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system when the vehicle is stationary. If you own a smartphone, you can also hook it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is helpful if you are in another location and valet or mechanic needs to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the car on by selecting drive and then exit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or inside the center console. It is completely secure and untouchable and does not require any extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is embedded into it. The pin code needs to be selected before the engine starts. This prevents thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is stolen, the ghost 2 immobiliser problems will enter a security mode that disables all functions until the PIN code is entered, or you can utilize the mobile app to disarm it. This feature was designed to protect your vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who use relay boxes to take it. This will stop thieves from using mobile phones to turn on your sat-nav system or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also stops the 'Relay Style Frequency Amplifier'. This is the most common way that a vehicle is being stolen with a key-fob that has been cloned or stolen via hacking. Ghost allows you to prevent this theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed in the key fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This can be accomplished with most modern PKE keys.
