The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the features found in its more expensive sibling.

During testing, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do to identify your home.

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is built into the charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the touch of one button. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger particles like rice and cereal. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that your home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vacuum is effective both on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as other models do and can clean up pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush however, iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating in your home. It's a nice premise, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the price cost.

Its smart navigation system uses a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundaries, so it can recognize areas that need extra attention.

The app is adept at alerting you when something needs attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session having been canceled due to a stuffed dust bin.

You can also create and combine rooms to modify how the Q Revo manages your home. This feature is beneficial for those who have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently remove clutter, such as toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my test cleaning up debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium robot vacuum and mop that comes with a host of convenience features that you aren't likely to find on robots in this price. It is able to build precise floor maps, recognize various flooring types and is among the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. Although these features are useful, they also push the L10s Ultra into the luxury category which could make it a little more expensive than some homeowners need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's tall and slim, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane which helps the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and transmit it to its base station. Its mops are efficient, removing 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
