Unlike some of the other robovacs that we test, the i3+ EVO features a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still needs to be manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's internal dustbin holds 2.4L of trash and is enough to last four or five cleaning sessions before you need to replace it.

This model, like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to create maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.

While the i3+ EVO is more effective at picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at, it's not the best when it comes to cleaning corners and edges. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being surprisingly quiet. It pushed chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it got stuck on cords and toys while testing.

It's only downside is that it's louder than other models, and doesn't perform as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml, which means that you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also generous when compared to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. If the battery is empty it returns to its dock and automatically recharges before continuing cleaning where it left off. This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This along with other advancements has helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping tests. You can schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and check the status of the battery among other things. The app is easy to use, though it does not support Apple HomeKit; that feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that this feature will be delayed until 2025. A few other robots aren't compatible with HomeKit however, a lot of them work with Siri Shortcuts.

It can also be programmed to follow a predetermined path, which is beneficial if you have narrow staircases or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test, it performed well cleaning carpets.
