Best Self-Empting Robot Vacuums and Mops

The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is one of the most affordable self-emptying vacuums available that are available. In our tests it was able to remove dry oats from hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its dust bin is simple to empty and openit's much simpler than some other models in its price range.

It recharges at the base and resumes cleaning when it's fully charged. But its obstacle-avoidance technology is caught in socks and cords and it's not able to go below low thresholds.

The pattern of cleaning doesn't always appear logical - sometimes it follows straight lines, other times it focuses on the edges of a room - however Bounce Navigation ensures your entire floor is kept clean. The eufy RoboVac 11S makes a good choice for regular vacuuming. It shares a similar design to our top pick and is excellent at picking up smaller and fine dust from hard floors. It also does a great job on medium- and low-pile carpet. Similar to the iRobot Roomba it also comes with a large dirt compartment and utilizes BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It has an easy-to-use remote control and you can set up daily cleanings with the app. Its battery lasts for about an hour and the dustbin can be emptied without removing it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an excellent robot vacuum and mop, with a wide range of automation features. It comes in three options, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. Only the latter has an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its home base, empty the collected debris in a dust bag, or reservoir, drain the dirty water tank, and wash its mopping pads.

Sensors on the S7 work in tandem to clean and avoid obstacles. It can detect floor types and save a map of rooms and zones. It even detects dirt levels. It also has the ability to plan and conduct spot cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in our standard tests, but it wasn't able to quite match the iRobot Roomba j7+ during the carpet deep clean test.

Using the companion app, you can program the S7 to run a cleaning cycle according to your schedule. You can specify a time, day, or week and select among a range of cleaning modes such as eco, automatic, and deep clean. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if it is running out of power or encounters an obstacle.

If you don't have an Android device but you can still use the S7 by connecting a remote to the dock that charges it. The controls on the remote are a little confusing initially, but once you've mastered the use of them, they function well. The power button doubles as the general 'Clean' function and the 'Spot Clean' button directs the robot to clean small areas around itself. The "Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

In addition to the new mapping features, Roborock improved its mobile app by adding live view that lets you check out what the S7 is up to at home. You can enable it by pressing a specific sequence of buttons on your S7 and then creating an unlock pattern within the mobile app, which is available at any time you wish to see what the S7 is doing.

3. Shark IQ XL

Shark's robot vacuums aren't as popular as those from iRobot or Roborock. But our tests on the ground have proven that this model is one of the most effective self-emptying vacuums that are available. It's simple to set up, comes with an enormous bin that's easy to empty (albeit somewhat loudly) into a trash bin when it is full, and can easily be programmed to do a complete home cleaning schedule or as needed.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home which allows you to keep track of its cleaning progress from the Shark app. The app lets you program cleaning schedules, get push notifications about its status as well as pause and resume cleaning, or limit it to one room. There isn't much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it feels a bit less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It is able to remove lots of dirt from carpeted floors and does a decent job of maneuvering itself however it's not even close to the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of performance on carpeted surfaces. The i7 is also more robust and Upgrade Your Cleaning With ECOVACS DEEBOT T20e: Omni feels more durable and robust, has lower maintenance requirements, has lower recurring costs, charges faster while offering comparable battery performance, and offers far more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones as well as the ability to select specific rooms to keep clean.

In our tests, the J7+ was a solid performer on both hard and carpeted floors, and it cleaned up most of the dirt we threw at it. It isn't the best robot vacuum and mop self empty at dealing with pet hair and larger debris such as sand, but it can clean these things with a little more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors to prevent it from falling down stairs or becoming caught on furniture legs.

We did notice a couple of small niggles with the j7+, mainly that it can get caught on cords and carpets, and it doesn't always shut off its mopping when it's finished vacuuming. This is a great model that ticks off all the boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the top auto-emptying systems we've examined. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it will automatically empty itself for you to. This reduces the amount of trash you must dispose of. You'll only need to replace the dust disposal bag on the dock every 60 days, based on how frequently you use the J7+.
