The D7 is the top model in Neato's robotic vacuum line. It is extremely navigable and can be controlled via either the app or Alexa. The D7 unlike other robots who struggle to navigate without a map, utilizes advanced sensors and lasers to create a digital map. You can create virtual "No Go" lines by clicking your finger. This means that the D7 will not go in areas it shouldn't be (without the need for barriers or towers).

The cleaning capabilities of the D7 is impressive. It can pick up 99.8 percent of Cheerios that are scattered on the floor. This is a little better than the iRobot Roomba j7: Smart Mapping Vacuum Cleaner i7+, which only collects 94.6 percent and the Shark Ion R85, which only manages to collect 100 percent. The D7 can also maneuver well both on bare carpet and high-pile carpet.

A second option is the ability to choose between two cleaning intensities. There's an Eco mode that operates the vacuum quietly and extends the time of run, whereas Turbo mode delivers a more powerful clean. However Turbo mode operates at a loud, unfriendly volume which can be annoying if you're running the D7 while working or watching television.

The D7 is one of the few robots that are capable of creating and keeping multiple floor plans. This is perfect for multi-level houses. It also comes with a quick boost function that allows it to return to its base, recharge and resume cleaning. This is particularly useful for cleaning areas that are difficult to clean. Neato's app is simple to use and frequently updated with new features. It's among the most affordable robots that are available for thick carpets and pet hair.

2. Eufy RoboVac ElevenS

Similar to the Neato D7, the Eufy 11S is sleek and low-profile. This allows it to go under couches, beds and coffee tables with greater ease than other robot vacuums. It also has some innovations that help it clean better and go wherever you want it to go, such as the no-go zones that you can draw on virtual maps to prevent it from cleaning areas that are sensitive such as pet bowls or beds. It also comes with an auto recharge and resume feature. If the battery fails to charge before it finishes cleaning, it automatically makes its way back to its base to recharge and then resumes where it left off.

The RoboVac 11S performs much better than its predecessor, the RoboVac 30C which is eufy and is superior to the ILIFE A4s and bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. The dirt compartment is bigger and has a longer maximum battery life, and it removes more debris from plain floors to carpets that are high and low-pile. It is also built better and more durable, incurs fewer recurring costs and moves more effectively.

It's not the best robot vacuum for floors that aren't clean, but it is an ideal choice for households with carpets that are medium and pets. It uses random navigation to navigate around the room. It also feels its way around obstacles using sensors located in its front bumper and underbelly. It's not as sophisticated as other robots' mapping technologies but it's enough to reach into nooks and corners that other robots are unable to reach. For a robotic vacuum with impressive technological capabilities and impressive tech capabilities, the Roborock s7 is an excellent value. This mid-priced vacuum cleaner performs just as well as high-end models, and is simple to maintain and use. It has a variety of premium features that are similar to those you will find in robots costing twice as much. This makes it a great pick for a first-time buyer or someone who wants to upgrade from an entry-level model, or anyone looking to save time and effort while cleaning their home.

This robot is equally comfortable on floors that are unfinished as it is on carpet. Its 2,000Pa suction power can handle heavy-duty carpeting. It's even able to clean pet hair from crevices and cracks in bare floors. It's built well, moves easily, and is compatible with voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to allow hands-free operation. Its battery is a little smaller than other models we've tested however, it has plenty of juice for the majority of homes.

The s7 can also function as a mopping robot. It includes a 200ml water tank as well as a mopping plate that easily attaches to the back of the robot. The Neato Q5 Pro robot vacuum is a multi-functional machine that is a pro at cleaning floors with no carpet. It also removes many pieces of dust from high and low pile carpet. It feels impressively solid, comes with a wide suite of navigation features and is easy to maintain. However, it has a lower maximum battery life than some other models and has higher cost-per-use.

The Q5 is among the slowest robots we have tested, however, its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't require any extra attention after its first pass through an area. It begins by tracing out an area, and then fills in the interior with a sweep of parallel lines. After the work is complete it is returned to the charging station if it was not at the base.

It did an excellent job cleaning hardwood flooring, sucking up at least 88% of dirt in each test. It had more trouble with low- and high-pile carpets, but still performed better than the standard unit. It also comes with mopping attachments that can clean up wet spills. We didn't test it.

Its maneuverability is higher than average for a robot with lidar, with it being able to softly bump into furniture and other obstacles. Its navigation system is able to detect stairs and floors with multiple levels, which is a nice touch that allows it to efficiently navigate multi-story homes. It also can recognize specific rooms when you choose them in the app. It can also alter the power level, create no-go zones, and display an image of the current area of cleaning.
