1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It makes use of AI to identify objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills quickly, leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.

The design is also better than the competition. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles toys rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's automatic floor Vacuum Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it all over the floor robot. It even managed to take small gravel and sand that other robots can't. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

Although it's not as smart as the Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent option for those who need mopping and a vac in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robot vacuum cleaner robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it lacks certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to getting rid of dust bunnies which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums fail. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas or modify your home map or change the room's label.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is simple. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people, but it's one that will assist you in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market, but it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and its size is relatively compact. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly in the area of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do it all.

If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's simple to set up, just connect one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and plenty of room for it to move, however.

The G30 is a compact device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. The design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The main feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
