1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with best self cleaning vacuum-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.

Both robots are good at picking up surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and are able to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes around three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and -- the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor washing robot plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or by voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets, and then pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task that is being completed. It swiftly switches from handheld to automatic floor vacuum vacuum and back again.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments and a wand clip. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is enough time to sweep a typical-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on a robot. It could pick up most types of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often is power-depleted before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and works better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
