Window Sash Repairs

Weather Stripping

Wood window sashes provide an elegant look to your home. If properly maintained, they will last for years. They may, however, be damaged or degraded over time due to exposure or normal wear and tear. Sash repair specialists can restore windows back to their original condition and maintain their beauty much longer than replacement windows.

The first step for sash window repairs is addressing weather stripping. It's found on both the sash as well as the frame. It can cause drafts if it's worn out or loose. Start by identifying the brand of window and the glass manufacturer's date (etched on the glass's corner, or the aluminum spacers between panes). Then, remove the sash and mark its width and height, so you can find new weather stripping that matches.

Sash Hardware

Sash Weights

Sash weights can be changed to enhance the efficiency of your window sash and reduce the cost of energy. These weights function as counterbalances and allow you to open and shut the window without having to use mechanical or electrical devices.
