Transponder Keys

If you do this, make sure you have a high-quality key copy. If you use a cheaper key, it can cause damage to the transponder chip and cause your vehicle to not start.

Mechanical Keys

It is possible to think of the classic IBM Model M keyboard when you hear the term mechanical key. They have stems which hold keys in place and a spring. To replace the battery in the key fob, take out the plastic case from the key fob, and then place the battery on the ring of small rubber. Take your new battery and place it in the case, positive (+) facing up. Attach the case back to the key fob by placing the ring in the case and pressing both sides until they click into place.

Remote Control Keys

Certain mazda models come with a remote that is built into the key's head that makes them a dual-in one device. This type of key is convenient and adds a layer of security to your vehicle because it blocks thieves from using the traditional flat metal keys to unlock the car.
