It also did a great job in maneuvering around my bar stools and didn't hit them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only issue is that the ION XL is unable to detect cords, toys and shoes that may be in its path therefore you'll need prepare your home for cleaning prior to using this vacuum to avoid these items.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot j7+ but it's a good option if you do not need to spend more than $500 on a robotic. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also better in vacuuming floors that are not clean and removing pet fur, but it isn't as effective on carpets with a low or higher-pile carpet.

It's not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is a great alternative. The ION XL is a powerful machine that has a large capacity bin. It is controlled by an app or voice command and is easy to maintain. It also has an affordable price.
