The j7+ also has an in-front camera that is designed to help the robot stay clear of dangers like power cords and pet waste. The camera doesn't work as well in dim lighting, though it's possible to consider a competitor with a better-performing camera, like the Roborock S7 MaxV.

I tested the ION XL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard test for debris. It was also good at moving and didn't hit my bar stools as did the iRobot J7+ in this test. The ION XL robot cleaner is not as intelligent as the iRobot j7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't want to spend over $500 on a robotic. It's superior to the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also does a better job of vacuuming floors with no carpet and removing pet hair, but it can't perform as well on lowor high-pile carpet.

It's not as robust however it's an excellent choice. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it is operated by an app or voice command, and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It's also a great price.
