4. Shark ION XL

Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robotic vacuum The ION XL is an excellent choice for people looking for hands-free cleaning and an outstanding level of performance. It was also good at maneuvering and didn't bump into my barstools like the iRobot J7+ in this test. The only downside to the ION XL is that it does not detect cords, shoes or toys in its path. The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+, but it's a great alternative if you don't want to spend over $500 on a robot. It's better than the RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's simpler to maintain and has lower recurring costs. It also does a better job at vacuuming bare floors and removing pet hair, but it doesn't perform as well on low- or high-pile carpet.
