BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or installing new locks to bypass the security system.

The ghost 11 immobiliser is unique to other immobilisers in that it does not use key-fobs or LED indicators. It makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to let you access to a unique disarming sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a new BMW or used the stop-start feature, you may have noticed that when you stop the engine the engine will still run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and if this signal is detected, it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle every time you hit the button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN data network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that aren't accessible through the standard media menus. For instance the volume up/down button, or source controls, air conditioning, cruise control and more. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to guess.

In addition, we can also add a service or valet mode to the system, this is activated when your car is scheduled for maintenance to ensure that the Ghost remains hidden from the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically rearm when you return.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for high-end automobiles. It is completely undetectable, does not require cutting any original factory wires and is able to shut down your cars engine when an incorrect pin code is entered. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the leading immobiliser available. It prevents your vehicle from being taken by hacking or key cloning. If you're parked at your home or in a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from starting until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for customers who need to turn their vehicles over to valet services or other trusted friends and family members. This allows you to take your car to the garage for repairs and maintenance, or other maintenance. without having to worry about it being altered by an expert mechanic while you are waiting.

When the service or valet mode is activated it will block your BMW from being able to be driven when it is first started. This stops anyone from testing while you are away. Once you return, the car will return to normal operation and stop it from being damaged or stolen.

We can mount the Ghost to any BMW All you need is the right keys as the device doesn't use the original remotes and can be used in conjunction with them. If you do not want to use a smartphone or are not comfortable with it, we can supply an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the technology in security systems has to change, that's why Ghost has created this subtle and unobtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and then drive it away. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons within your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be completed before the engine can start.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated the attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it is not able to find the correct code it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without the need to enter a PIN.

If you have a GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system when the vehicle is in a parking spot. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful if mechanics or valets need to start your car but you are and not in the vicinity. The system allows you to start your car by selecting drive and then quit the service mode without having to use your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real time on a map using your smartphone, perfect for tracking your car when in motion.

The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or within the center console. It is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. This pin code needs to be chosen prior to the vehicle's start. This prevents thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will enter a service mode and disables all functions unless a PIN code is entered, or you utilize the mobile app to disarm it. This feature was designed to safeguard your vehicle from thieves using high-tech devices who use relay boxes to take it. This will prevent thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat-nav or mp3 players to track your vehicle!

Ghost also blocks 'Relay-style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most common method of stealing a vehicle using a keyfob that's copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost can help you avoid this by installing an anti-theft device in your vehicle, called Secure-A-Key. The device is inserted into the key-fob of your vehicle and then disconnects the battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This is possible with the majority of modern PKE keys.
