The ION XL, Shark's most sophisticated self-emptying robot vacuum, is an ideal option for those who want to clean their homes without lifting a finger. It also has exceptional performance. The vacuum comes with a large bin that can store up to a month's worth dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the conclusion of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums on the market, suitable for hard and carpeted floors, and it can also sweep and mop your floors. You can control the robot with an app or voice commands. You can also make a map to clean your home whenever you want. The robot can also do well at maneuvering around furniture and can even navigate stairs and fully-carpeted rooms effortlessly.

I tried the ION XL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood floors, area rugs and a standard test for debris. It did a great job cleaning up pet hair and debris from the floors, and also took care of some of the most stubborn crumbs that accumulated on carpets. It was also excellent in moving around my bar stool and didn't get in the way of them like the iRobot J7+ did in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL can't detect toys, cords and shoes in its path, so you will have to clean your home prior to running this robot self emptying vacuum vacuum if you want it to avoid these things.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+, but it's a great alternative if you don't want to spend more than $500 on a robotic. It's superior to the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also does a better job in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and removing pet hair, but it does not do as well on low- or high-pile carpet.
