The robot can also do well at moving around furniture and can even move through stairs and fully-carpeted rooms easily.

I tested the IONXL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard debris test. It did an excellent job cleaning up and removing pet hair, debris and even some of the more stubborn carpet crumbs. It was also excellent at maneuvering around my bar stools and did not bump into them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only issue is that the ION XL is unable to detect cords, toys and shoes that are in its path, which means you'll have prepare your home for cleaning prior to using this vacuum to avoid these items.

The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+ but it's a good option if you do not want to spend over $500 on a robot. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's easier to maintain and has lower recurring costs. It is also better in vacuuming floors that are not clean and picking up pet fur, but not as good on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It's not as well-built however it's an excellent choice. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It can be operated by an app or a voice command, and Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop is simple to maintain. It is also a reasonable price.
