BMW Ghost Immobiliser

Stop & Start

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to your BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This lets you enter the key push sequence that is not in the normal media menus, such as volume up/down, cruise control, source or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 numbers, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.

In addition to this we can also add a service/ valet mode to the system. This is activated when your car is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost remains hidden from the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return the ghost vehicle immobiliser will automatically re-arm.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the technology in security systems has to evolve, this is why Ghost has created this subtle and discreet immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence that must be completed before the engine can start.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated the attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it fails to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without entering PIN.

If you own a GPS device connected to your BMW, you can make use of it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system while the vehicle is parked. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is embedded into it. This pin code needs to be chosen before the vehicle is started. This prevents thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is being stolen the Ghost will enter service mode and shut down all functions until you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was developed to safeguard your vehicle from high tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your car. It also stops thieves from using their mobile phone to activate your sat nav system or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also can stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most typical way a car is being taken away with a key-fob that has been cloned or stolen by hacking.
