The Bathys look gorgeous with their sleek black finish and swooping curves that are similar to Focal's premium open-back Elear and closed-back Celestee headphones. They also have premium materials like aluminum and magnesium for an extremely sturdy build that feels solid, comfortable and worth the price.

In Bluetooth mode in Bluetooth mode, the Bathys deliver a crisp and lively sound signature that easily beats similar priced consumer ANC options such as the Bose QC45. Direct DAC audio mode allows them to be further pushed and makes them an excellent option for those who love hifi.

Using the Focal and Naim app users can alter the playback controls on their headphone, virtual assistant, and Bluetooth pairing preferences. You can select between silent or soft intensities for ANC as well as adjust the brightness of the LEDs on the headphone's ear cups, and adjust the settings for EQ. The app is bare but has enough features to be worth the cost.

The only significant flaw is that the active noise cancellation doesn't quite live up to the competition. They have a similar look to Sony's XB910N and 1000X headphone models. They have a slim, plastic headband that has the typical hinges for the earcups. They're lightweight and comfortable to wear, however they feel a little too tight for my taste. In the box, they come with an USB-C port to charge as well as a 3.5mm connector and a decent length cable. They are compatible with multipoint Bluetooth pairing, which means you can connect them to two devices at once If you want to.

In my tests the CH720N's hybrid tech for noise cancellation did a great job of reducing ambient noise. It's not equipped with many of Sony's most popular features (such as Speak-toChat and Quick Attention) but it has many excellent features. 360 Reality Audio, smart controls and the DSEE upscaling are all included. The only thing missing is LDAC Bluetooth high-res audio support I believe it would have been a welcomed inclusion.
