After a number of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. The project is dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unknown artist the project is made up of an advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, which is dubbed the Space Key, is a piece that was developed in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is a unique piece of digital art that is accessed through a QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite materials that Lamborghini, as part of a research project in 2019 sent to the International Space Station. Once it returned to earth the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this unique art. The physical element has an NFT serial code that ties to the digital artwork through a QR code printed on the back.

After weeks of social media posts that hinted at it, luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally revealed its first venture for non-fungible tokens (NFT). Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the 'collector's piece' is limited to only five units and will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth the block was engraved using a QR code that links to the digital element within the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels make up each of the five images which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera, which took each of the individual images, which were then combined into the final image. The result is a photo that is out of this world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and time of the event hasn't been revealed yet.
