BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in keys or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

Like other immobilisers, The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost does not use LEDs or key fobs. It makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to to enter a unique sequence of disarming that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a brand new BMW or used the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that when you stop the engine the engine will still run for about 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and when this signal is detected, it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle whenever you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or to add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code which is accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that are not available in the normal media menus. For instance volume up/down, source air conditioning, cruise control and more. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

In addition, we can also add a service/ valet mode to the system, this is activated when your vehicle is scheduled for maintenance to ensure that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. This can be achieved by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return, the Ghost will automatically re-arm.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

If you're at home and in the event of a meet and greet In a meet and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start your vehicle using your keys in the normal way, however it stops the engine from being started again unless the correct code is entered. This is ideal for those who need to turn their cars over to valet services or other trusted friends and family members. It also lets you take the car to the garage for servicing etc without worrying about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic while you are waiting.

Once the valet or service mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from test driving while you are away. Once you return it will revert back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen again.

We can install the Ghost to any BMW all you require is the correct keys as it doesn't require the original remotes, and can be used alongside them. Anti-Hijack

With the advent of high-tech thieves becoming increasingly advanced, the security technology has to evolve, this is why Ghost has developed this discreet and unobtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from using an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before your engine can start.

If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated the attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. If the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it is not able to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where it is). The Anti-Hijack feature is disabled by entering your push sequence or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to temporarily begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to make use of it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is stationary. If you own a smart-phone, you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go functions. This can be useful when mechanics or valets need to start your car, but you have to be somewhere else. The system allows you to start your car by selecting drive, then leave the service mode without the need to use your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle in real-time on a map using your smartphone, which is ideal for tracking your car whilst moving around.

The ghost immobiliser range rover can be installed under the dashboard, or in the center console. It is completely concealed and tamper-proof. It doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. This pin code must be chosen prior to the vehicle's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU to disable this system.

If the vehicle is stolen and the Ghost will enter a security mode and shut down all functions until the PIN code is entered or you can utilize the mobile app to disarm it. This feature was designed to protect you vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who employ relay boxes to steal it. It also stops thieves from being able to use their mobile phones to activate your sat-nav or MP3 player to track your car!

Ghost also blocks the 'Relay-style Frequency amplification'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a car with a keyfob which has been copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost lets you stop this kind of theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed in the key fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be done using the most modern PKE keys.
