Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item upgrading level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could boost their stats even more.

Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the primary method of upgrading equipment. These are items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed of the item's collection to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, click it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required for the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can cut down on the cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item upgrading to add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the item you are admiring.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.

When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will vanish. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who take many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded for better damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item upgrading's rarity as well as its level, which means items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final level. This effect is most evident on rings and Diadems, as they have no other options to raise the ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it using money or food items that allows them to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of upgrading a stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item upgrader mod.

When upgrading your items, it is important to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time, a higher roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll could occur. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so if you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type, it has a chance to get a higher iLevel.

Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to get to the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track, and will unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.

The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an exceptional one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
